Class Descriptions & Attire

Ballet class focuses on the foundational techniques of ballet, helping students develop strength, flexibility, and grace. With an emphasis on proper posture and alignment, dancers will learn classic ballet movements and choreography. Jazz is energetic and fun. Students will explore rhythm improvisation, and dynamic movement while learning exciting routines. Hip-Hop is high-energy class teaches the latest hip-hop dance styles and techniques. Dancers will learn to express themselves through choreography and freestyling, all while building confidence and coordination. Contemporary blends elements of ballet and modern dance, the contemporary class encourages creativity and self-expression.  In tap students will learn rhythm and timing through the art of tap dancing. The class focuses on footwork techniques and choreography, allowing dancers to create music with their feet.

Dress Code

Wearing proper dance attire is essential for several reasons. Firstly, it allows for a full range of movement, enabling dancers to perform their best without restrictions. Additionally, the right attire provides support and comfort, helping to prevent injuries during practice and performances Lastly, appropriate dance clothing fosters a sense of unity and professionalism within a dance group or class.

*Dancers must dress appropriately for class or they will not be allowed to dance without proper shoes or attire
*Dancers must have hair secured up out of the face, (Bun, French braid, etc.)
*Dancers  name needs to be written inside of all dance shoes
*All dancers need a dance bag for their belongings.  
*Dancers may wear different color shoes from the previous year to class, 
but will need the appropriate color for the recital. 

**Please note** 
Specific shoe color and tight color for the recital will be announced at the second parent watch. Shoes and tights should be purchased by the end of March for pictures.

pink ballet shoes, tan tap shoes (preferably snap or buckle), pink or tan tights, any color leotard

pink ballet shoes, tan tap shoes (jazz taps for 11 and older), tan jazz shoes (preferably Bloch super jazz), pink or tan tights, and any color leotard (may wear skirt, dance shorts, or leggings)  

pink ballet shoes, pink tights, and a leotard (if in pointe pointe shoes)

comfortable dance attire and tennis shoes

turning shoes and any form fitting dance attire such as a leotard or dance top with dance shorts or leggings. 

gym leotard, dance shirts, sports bra, or leggings. form fitting dance attire such as a leotard or dance top with leggings.

Solid color shirt, black pants or shorts, black ballet, black tap, and black jazz shoes.
